Pacific City Sweeps into the Championship Series
|
It was a sweet sweep for the Pacific City Iron Benders as they eased past the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks to advance to the Championship Series.
Pacific City won the final game by a 4-3 count and the series 3-0.
"We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Nate Scholfield, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Scholfield hit .455 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 0 runs.
The Pacific City Iron Benders don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pittsburgh Monongahelas - Tuscon Raiders series. Tuscon leads the series 2 games to 1. The Championship Series is scheduled to begin on August 12th , 2067.
