Whalers Suffer 13-2 Drubbing
The Wheat City Whiskey Jacks put together a convincing win at Grounds, defeating the Anchorage Whalers, 13-2. Pete Colino was one of the hitting stars. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Wheat City. Jamie Fischer, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Whalers to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. With the win, Wheat City upped its record to 29-16.

Wheat City used the bat of Corentin Pillet to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Whiskey Jacks ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Colino told the Wheat City Citizen. "You win just by scoring more runs."
