Carroll Hits 3 home runs in Cavaliers Win
|
Columbus center fielder Matthew Carroll was a significant contributor in his team's 10-4 triumph over the Kansas City Keys. He belted 3 home runs. He drove in 8 runs and scored three times for Columbus. Adam Borders was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. The 4th-place Cavaliers lifted their record to 22-23.
With Columbus leading 4-1 in the top of the seventh, Carroll hit a fastball from Andres Gonzales for a grand slam home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Cavaliers ahead, 8-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Carroll told the Columbus Times.
