Whalers Beat Visiting Iron Benders, 6-2
The Anchorage Whalers got a stellar effort from pitcher Pete Roberts, helping Anchorage score a win over the visiting Pacific City Iron Benders, 6-2. The save was credited to Mike Watkins, his 7th. The win gives the Whalers a record of 12-35.

The Whalers got a big at-bat from right fielder Ed Benavides. For the game, Benavides was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Anchorage a 3-2 lead.

"Nice to get this one," said Roberts. "Wins have been hard to come by."
