Monongahelas Trounce Cavaliers, 11-2
The Pittsburgh Monongahelas had no problem beating the Columbus Cavaliers, 11-2, at Forbes Field. Mario Menendez led the way. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Pittsburgh. Chad Keesee picked up the save, his 2nd. Pittsburgh is now 43-22, 6 games up in the Frontier League Heartland.

There was more than one reason the Monongahelas beat the Cavaliers, but Menendez's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run double.

Columbus manager Lookie Wookie called the blowout loss "ugly."
