Keys Thrill Fans with 5-4 Win
Salt Lake City second baseman Doug McGregor had a good game, even if his team did not. The Missionaries dropped a 5-4 decision to Kansas City at Polo Grounds 1923. McGregor was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Kansas City reliever Curt Lambert picked up the win to move to 1-2. Eddie Perron suffered the loss. The victory puts Kansas City at 23-42.

Kansas City won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Eddie Perron on the mound for Salt Lake City, left fielder J.P. Luter hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Keys fans to their feet.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Lookie Wookie, the Kansas City skipper. "This one tested us."
