Keys Score Late, Stun Missionaries, 2-1
|
In a well-pitched game between the Kansas City Keys and the Salt Lake City Missionaries, pitcher Johnny Sanchez was superb. The Kansas City right-hander helped his team win, 2-1. Kansas City reliever Eddy Loya picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Aaron Woods was tagged with the loss. The Keys go to 24-42 with the win.
Danny Contreras was the walk-off hero for Kansas City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Keys third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Sanchez said.
