Raiders Get 7-3 Win Versus Pittsburgh
|
With first baseman Bryan Cato leading the charge, the Tuscon Raiders defeated the Pittsburgh Monongahelas, 7-3, at Forbes Field. Cato, who is tied for 5th in the FL in home runs with 14, went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Matt Lambert earned the win to go to 5-2. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 1 strikeout in 6 innings of work. The triumph puts Tuscon at 40-28 for the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Art Sheffield? The Tuscon catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Raiders on top, 4-2. For the game, Sheffield had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
