Late Rally by Revolution Secures 6-5 Win
|
The New York Revolution turned back the Hamilton Hitters, 6-5, at Citi Field 2012. Jeremy Crusenberry, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times. Earning his 13th save for New York was Austin McCafferty. The Revolution boast a remarkable 38-8 record.
Had Justin Halverson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Halverson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Revolution.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said New York manager Lookie Wookie.
