Raptor Boats Lose By a Run at Columbia, 4-3
Starting pitcher Alfonso Figueroa pitched well enough to help the Columbia Crusaders beat the Raleigh Raptor Boats, 4-3. Dave Crawford, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The second-place Crusaders have won 4 consecutive games.

Had Pat McNally not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, McNally hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Crusaders.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Figueroa told the Columbia News.
