Revolution Prevail, 5-3, Over Dallas
|
New York picked up a win at Citi Field 2012, toppling the Dallas Bulldogs, 5-3. Pitcher Jesse Custer was one of the reasons the Revolution triumphed. Custer, the winner, moves to 6-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 3 walks. Austin McCafferty earned the save for New York, his 18th.
The Revolution got a big at-bat from first baseman Eddie Closs. For the game, Closs was 1 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 12th double of the season gave New York a 4-3 lead.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Closs told the New York Citizen.
The Revolution bumped their record to 45-9 with this win.
