Navigators Deal Seawolves 2-0 Defeat
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the NOVA Navigators and the San Diego Seawolves, Mario Sanchez was the difference-maker. The NOVA left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Sanchez, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The Navigators now have a record of 25-27.
The outcome was still in doubt in the bottom of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded and San Diego trailing 2-0, David Irvegas needed to get a big out. On a 2-2 slider, Mark Perry, the 13th overall pick in the 2062 draft, struck out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
