In a low-scoring contest, NOVA pitcher Mario Sanchez was marvelous in his team's 1-0 win. NOVA is third in the Continental League East with a record of 27-30.

The Navigators got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tim Mathews. For the game, Mathews was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season gave NOVA a 1-0 lead.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Norfolk manager Lookie Wookie said following the tough loss.
