Raptor Boats Come Up Short at NOVA, 5-4
|
Gene Langille did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Raleigh Raptor Boats from losing, 5-4, to the NOVA Navigators at Navigator Stadium. Langille went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Justin Detweiler got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. NOVA is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Andy Whitestone, the NOVA catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 5-4, Navigators. For the game, Whitestone went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Whitestone told the NOVA Daily News.
