7-4 Loss to Defenders Extends San Diego Losing Streak
|
The San Juan Defenders knocked off the San Diego Seawolves, 7-4, at El Morro Park. Jason Stewart was a big reason San Juan won. The left fielder was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Victor Espinoza snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 4-2 on the season. The losses continue to add up for San Diego, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.
Stewart had a timely hit for San Juan in the bottom of the seventh. With San Diego trailing 4-3, he turned a full count sinker into a grand slam home run. It was his 15th home run of the season, making it 7-4, San Juan.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Lookie Wookie, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
