Raptor Boats Take Down Blazers, 3-1
|
The Raleigh Raptor Boats beat the Mexico City Blazers, 3-1, at Burnt to a Crisp Field. Starting pitcher Carlos Diaz was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Dustin Bill finished the game for Raleigh and earned his 18th save. The Raptor Boats are now 32-36, while the Blazers fall to 27-41.
Raleigh used the clutch hitting of Danny Perez to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Raptor Boats the lead, 3-1. For the game, Perez had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
Perez called the win "a collective effort."
