Brawlers Shut Out Blazers, 8-0
|
Brooklyn Brawlers starter Pedro Fernandez had all his pitches working at Burnt to a Crisp Field. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-0 Brooklyn win over the Mexico City Blazers. Fernandez got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 6.2 innings. Fernandez allowed no runs. Brooklyn has now won 5 straight.
Pat Austin, the 26-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Austin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Brooklyn up, 2-0.
"I thought we were prepared," Mexico City manager Lookie Wookie said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
