Crusaders Subdue San Juan, 3-2
|
The Crusaders grabbed a win, 3-2, at Segra Park, overcoming a fine effort from San Juan pitcher Bryan Bell. Bell went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Columbia starter Mike Burciaga was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-6. The win has Columbia at 26-47.
Bill Campbell, who is a three-time All-Star, aided the Columbia cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Campbell told the Columbia News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
