The Tampa Crocodiles bested the Columbia Crusaders, 4-2, at Freedom Lake. Chris Holcomb was one of the standouts. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs. Dan Rogala earned the win for Tampa. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 9-3. Joel Hettinger converted his 5th save in 5 tries.
Mike Kelsey, who is tied for 2nd in the CL in home runs with 21, chipped in for Tampa with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
Holcomb told a Tampa Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
