Crocodiles Earn 6-5 Win Versus Crusaders
|
Despite a great performance by Columbia right fielder Manuel Rivera, the Tampa Crocodiles defeated the Crusaders by the score of 6-5 at Freedom Lake. Rivera went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tampa reliever Vince Johnson picked up the win to move to 2-6. Jerry Howard suffered the loss. The current losing streak for Columbia has reached 5 games.
The Crocodiles procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Mike Kelsey. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
Kelsey offered a curt "no comment" when asked to discuss the win after the game.
