Raleigh Raptor Boats starter Carlos Diaz was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the San Diego Seawolves, 4-3. Justin Pierce snagged the win in relief. In 1.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 1-3 on the season. Raleigh now has a record of 42-34 with the win.

Raleigh used the clutch hitting of Gene Langille to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Raptor Boats ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We did a lot of things right," said Diaz.
