Carroll Pounds 3 HR Wednesday, June 17th , 2065 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Matthew Carroll can celebrate. The Columbus Cavaliers center fielder powered three into the stands at Polo Grounds 1923 today against the Kansas City Keys. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Carroll told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Cavaliers toppled Kansas City by a score of 10-4, knocking in 8 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Columbus manager Lookie Wookie said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Matthew Carroll grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Randy Doring in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Andres Gonzales in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off C.J. Walker in the 9th. This year Carroll is hitting .396 with 67 hits, 13 home runs, 39 RBIs and has scored 32 runs. |
