5-Hit Barrage by Covey Saturday, July 16th , 2067 Dan Covey did more than his part as the Pacific City Iron Benders topped the Anchorage Whalers today at Tillamook Country Grounds. The Iron Benders center fielder pounded out 5 hits to pace his team to a 9-2 thumping of the Whalers. Dan Covey doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. To date this season Covey is hitting .368 with 5 home runs.
