Frontier League Heartland Title Goes to Monongahelas Saturday, July 30th , 2067 The outcome of the Frontier League Heartland was in doubt for everyone around North American Baseball Association. Everyone, that is, except the Pittsburgh Monongahelas. "We knew we would win it," said Pittsburgh starting pitcher Ralph Francisco, after his team edged the competition to win the division by one game. "It might have been an extremely close race, but I don't think our players ever lost faith that we would get the job done." The club got the job done on the strength of a 53-28 record, which earned Pittsburgh its 7th division title. The team will be seeking the 1st World Series in franchise history. "We're also confident about our chances in the playoffs," Francisco added. "Don't count us out." |
