Mavericks Top Cavaliers in Extras, 3-2
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Phoenix Mavericks and Columbus Cavaliers.
Phoenix Mavericks starter Ricky Garcia was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Columbus Cavaliers, 3-2. Phoenix reliever Matt Harshman picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Jose Pulido absorbed the loss.
The Mavericks relied on designated hitter Bob Benner for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.
"This game will make a man of you," said Lookie Wookie, the Phoenix skipper, "if it doesn't kill you first."
The Mavericks move to 30-29 with the win, while the Cavaliers drop to 29-30.
